Turkey is a huge market for mobile service – with the number of mobile phone users already totalling 66 million. Companies and mobile network operators are also interested in Near Field Communication (NFC), even multi-bank, multi-operator trials are being conducted. With this innovative power and interesting market forecasts, servtag seas Turkey as one key market in the near future for its product “friendticker.de”.
Servtag has now appointed Mr Sarper SILAOGLU as Managing Director of servtag Turkey. Mr Silaoglu has more than 10 years of experience in information technology and has been involved in various database and interactive solutions. He begun his career at Cyramaxx where he was one of the co-founders, setting up the company to deliver information kiosks and interactive cd-rom projects. Later he focused on mobile services with the belief of converging internet and smartcard applications with mobile networks. He is also founder of SoMobile – one of the first companies active in NFC in Turkey. His special areas are the retail sector, banking and merchandising.
In his new role, Mr Silaoglu will be based in the Servtag Office Istanbul, managing customer relations and investments in Turkey. His role will be to build on the success of servtag’s operations in Central Europe by expanding the existing mobile location-based services and communities. Further he will be inspecting and analysing trends in the Turkish market to enable servtag to further evolve as an international NFC service provider.
