In 2009, Servtag developed a system for location-related information services which is based on mobile “tags” (protection of utility patents). Mobile tags are physical access points which enable the mobile phone to request and access information immediately without any further entering of search terms. The servtag system is capable of determining the location automatically – without any GPS alignment or cell-id procedures. The system is providing detailed localization information even within separate floors or static objects. Each sticker includes an RFID tag which stores an unique identification number which is connected to a service in our UISLE database.
UISLE stands for “Ubiquitous Information Services for Local Environments” and combines the technologies of SMS, NFC and QR-Code with the mobile internet. Thanks to the servtag Service Connector, UISLE is universally applicable. The Service Connector allows every existing mobile internet service to request information from the UISLE tags, either for advertising purposes or to acquire further services based on existing ticketing/payment infrastructure – the necessary adjustments are minimal. UISLE Tags are self-adhesive and can be used from both sides. Attached to a store window, UISLE is usable from the inside and the outside.

UISLE can be used as a mobile urban information system on the spot. For that purpose, Servtag has created an outdoor “tagboard” series which protects the NFC tags from water, dirt and sunlight. The concept of this system is designed for unitized installation in different locations, both public and private. There is no need of any power supply, regular maintenance is barely necessary.
